You should preferably show people on your website via IdM. This has a decisive advantage for you: the portraits are uploaded by the people themselves. This saves you a lot of work, as you would otherwise have to obtain written consent to use the data and portrait for each person. For people without a contract, use the contact card

You need the PERSON ID of the contact you want to display. You can find the ID on the web page

After clicking on the person, the URL ends with the ID you need.

The PERSON ID is 1653, insert this.

It ONLY works if the ID behind /person is used. It does NOT work with personen.uni-mainz.de/public/org/id ! This happens if you do NOT search for the person, but have clicked on the person via the institution, then you will first land at a url of the type personen.uni-mainz.de/public/org/orgid/member/member-id. Click on “show full profile” and you will land at personen.uni-mainz.de/public/search

73041 is NOT the PERSON ID.

WordPress only shows what has been released has been approved! Although this is only necessary once, it is often forgotten (include it in the onboarding). Therefore: Look at Personen.Uni-Mainz.DE in a private window, this is the only way to see the public content. This is how it works:

  • Chrome: a new Incognito window: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox: a new private window: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Edge: New InPrivate window: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Internet Explorer: InPrivate browsing: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • As long as you are not logged in, you will see the button Anmelden at the top right. This is the status in which you must view the contact details!
  • Search for a person. If a person is not found, they have not released their data (profile and roles) and therefore cannot be output! Send the person the instructions: Manage and release your own data in IdM
  • Namensänderung von Abteilungen und Personen: hier ist ein JGU Account nötig:bei https://idm.uni-mainz.de
  • Someone is missing even though they have been successfully displayed for a while: the contract has changed. Or the OU in which the person is sorted: then it helps to delete the block and create a new one. Or the setting for publication has been withdrawn by the person.
  • Someone is missing and cannot log in to Personen.Uni-Mainz.DE either: PHD and Bachlor are in IdM if they have registered.
  • Auxiliary staff shortage: As of January 2025, there is a shortage of the assistants, because they do not all have a corresponding account. Current solution: let them set up an account. The problem with the assistants is solved by connecting the Active Directory to the IdM/MACH.
  • External persons and cooperations (RMU) are missing: a corresponding workflow is being requested from data protection. A checklist might be sufficient here.

The main setting option in the block is the link: either the profile page, which is the default, your own web page or no link at all.
